The iPad is a great gaming device, but its touchscreen-only method has ruined many a title, especially those action games that need precise controls. Because of this, I'm super excited about the Fling Game Controller, the first joystick for the iPad. As you might tell from the image, the portable thumbstick plops right on the screen and allows easy navigation.
You can preorder the Fling for $24.95 (or two for $38) from the Ten One Design site. It will be available by the end of the month, and I look forward to getting a test drive soon.
